A great option, which can be confirmed with your general contractor, is to opt for thermal window replacements in your home. <br />Depending on the age of your home you may or may not have thermal windows installed. Older homes certainly don't unless you went to extra lengths to have them installed. It's easy to tell the difference however when you look around your house. Most homes dating back more than 15 years are likely equipped with single pane glass windows. Thermal window replacements actually have two or more panes with cushions of air or gas in between the panes of glass. <br />The benefit can be found in that pocket between the glass panes. Coupled with the air or gasses within, this space can reduce heat loss tremendously. Given that the windows in most homes contribute to about 40% of the heat bill, and thermal glass is nearly 4 times more effective than retaining heat, this type of window could reduce your heating bill by as much as 20% (sometimes more). <br />If you are planning on upgrading to newer and better windows,<a href="http://www.nike-outlet-store.info" target="_blank" class="postlink">new nike shoes</a>, don't let those big chain stores draw you in with promises of sales and low prices on thermal window replacements.
